The mission of The Center for Exercise Physiologyonline is to serve exercise physiologists as the Center for academic scholarship, professional credibility and service, and collaborative learning. It exists to oversee the three "Boards" of the American Society of Exercise Physiologists.

  1. Board of Accreditation
  2. Board of Certification
  3. Board of Licensure

The Center also exists: (1) to expand the body of professional knowledge; (2) to develop electronic information to transform exercise physiology; (3) to teach students, faculty, and the public at all levels through creative, critical and reflective thinking; (4) to improve the work conditions through service and publication; and (5) to ensure ethical and quality performance that results in the highest achievable levels of client satisfaction and recognition of excellence. To fulfill this mission, The Center for Exercise Physiologyonline performs the following:

  1. Synthesize, and provide high quality knowledge, original inquiry and critically reflective thinking within the exercise physiology body of knowledge.
  2. Provide electronic information about exercise physiology research, academics, ethics, professionalism, and other significant issues and concerns.
  3. Extend knowledge-based services and other electronic resources of the center to all exercise physiologists.
  4. Provide career information and responsibilities.
  5. Help with governance and decision making on behalf of the professional development of exercise physiology, particularly in regards to board certification, accreditation, and licensure of exercise physiologists.

The Journal of Professional Exercise Physiology is the professional journal of The Center for Exercise Physiologyonline.

The The ASEP Study Guide for EPC Exam is the official study resource for the Board Certification.
