    The 3rd Annual Meeting of ASEP has been planned to provide a mix of workshops, research, professional issues, and site visitations that combine to improve on the professional development of all exercise physiologists. The meeting commences on the Thursday evening (September 28, 2000) with a social gathering (5:30 to 7:30 pm) for interacting with colleagues, exhibitors, and meeting Per-Olof Astrand.  The meeting continues on Friday morning at 9 am through to Saturday.  Highlights of the meeting will include the:

    "Lifetime Achievement Award in Exercise Physiology" 
    for Per-Olof Astrand

    Keynote Speaker: Per-Olof Astrand

    • Hands-on workshops on topics such as body composition, development of a scope of practice, and exercise/physical activity recommendations to the public
    • The implementation of the "first-ever"Certification for Exercise Physiologists
    • Site visitation to Presbyterian Hospital’s HealthPlex 
    • Focus session on Microbiology and its impact in exercise physiology 
    • Research presentations 
    • Update on ASEP's Nationwide Program Accreditation Manual, and

    • Feedback on ASEP's professional initiatives including licensure, public education, student chapters, and state associations

    EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST WANTED

    Become a valued team member at one of the country’s premier pediatric hospitals!  Since its founding in 1882, Children’s Memorial Hospital has been recognized nationally for its excellent and comprehensive clinical care.

    We have an excellent part time opportunity for an Exercise Physiologist to join our cardiology team!  In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of the cardiac exercise lab and cardiac rehabilitation program.  Performing cardiac exercise testing in pediatric patients with congenital and acquired heart disease or cardiac symptoms is a primary focus.

    Qualified applicants will have a minimum of a bachelors degree in exercise science, public health or related field,  a minimum of 3-6 months exercise testing experience and have PALS certification.

    We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package in a rewarding work environment.  This part time position of 20 hours per week is moderately flexible within the following time frame: Monday-Friday 7:00 am-5:00 pm.
