    Recent News

The IAEP has established a hotline for all of its members.  This hotline can be used to receive more information for the EAEP or to be active in the career services bulletin.  Anyonewho wouldlike to announce a job positing or knows of any in the area, please call this hotline.  A record will be kept of all job positngs.  If any member would like a listing of the job postings, simply call the hotline and a listing will be faxed  or mailed to you.  This hotline can also be used if any member would like to contact the Board of contact a committee member.  The number is 219-269-8374.

July 1999, IAEP agreed to affiliate with the American Society of Exercise Physiologists (ASEP).  The Board vote was unanimous; feeling it is in the state's best interest to be affiliated with a national organization exclusive for exercise physiologists.  IAEP will benefit in many ways from this affiliation including, support of a national organization, professionali recognition and web page development, support of state organizations via the ASEP national web site, national certification, assistance to members of state organizations in advertising, securing jobs, and the continued support in the effort to gain licensure in the state of Indiana.

ASEP supports licensure and wants to help by centralizing licensure efforts across the nation.  ASEP will also support licensure by being recognized as a national organization for exercise physiologists.  Other states have failed in attempts for licensure because other organizations exercise physiologists often associate with are too multidisciplinary.  This affiliation will add strength to the professionalization of exercise physiology in the United States, as well as providing a consistent and more powerful lobbying agenda for each state's specific needs.
