Universities Space Research Association’s (USRA) Division of Space Life Sciences (DSLS), a non-profit consortium of universities, has an immediate opening for a recent Ph.D. graduate to serve as an entry level Research Scientist to acquire, analyze, and report human physiological data associated with bed rest investigations; and provide research and technical support for NASA sponsored flight and ground based experiments in the Cardiovascular Laboratory located at NASA Johnson Space Center.

This is a full-time, three year appointment for an Entry-Level Research Scientist (Postdoctoral Research Associate equivalent) to develop research procedures and protocols, as well as operational requirements, and to perform and analyze cardiovascular research directed toward the development of countermeasures for cardiovascular deconditioning due to space flight. The successful candidate must be a citizen of the United States. This position will require a minimal amount of domestic and international travel.

Applicants must have recently completed a Ph.D. program in Physiology or a closely related field. Experience in human research and the cardiovascular system are highly desirable. Superior oral and written communication skills are required.
